Dr. Kevin Rockmann is a Professor of Management and Dean's Scholar at the George Mason University School of Business (faculty page). His primary research area is psychological attachment and relationship formation and as such he is particularly interested in theories of identity, social exchange, and attachment. He particularly enjoys studying distributed, on-demand, and other non-traditional work contexts. His research has appeared in Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Academy of Management Annals, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and other outlets. His research has also been covered by Time, The New York Times, NPR, Forbes, and the Chicago Tribune. He is the lead author of the newly published textbook Negotiation: Moving from Conflict to Agreement (Sage). He is a past chair of the Managerial and Organizational Cognition (MOC) Division of the AOM. In addition to biking he enjoys spending time exploring the world both near and far with his wife Alison and two daughters, Naomi and Blake.

Susan K. Cohen is Associate Professor of Organizations and Entrepreneurship at the Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh (faculty page). Prior to graduate school, Susan worked as a consultant in Accenture’s information systems practice and then for Sage Software as a product development manager. Her research interests include the roles of collaboration, experience, and leadership in shaping how firms invent and commercialize innovations, compete and adapt, and create new businesses through technological innovation. She has published in academic journals, including Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Research Policy, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change.

Erik Dane is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior in the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has long been fascinated by how managers focus their attention, solve problems, and make decisions. He has published research on phenomena such as intuition, expertise, mindfulness, mind wandering, and epiphanies in a number of journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Discoveries, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. Previously, he was a faculty member at the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University where he twice received the Jones School’s Scholarship Excellence Award. He enjoys physical fitness, mindful walking, philosophical conversations, and creative writing.

Joachim Henkel is a Professor of Technology and Innovation Management and Vice Dean of Research at TUM School of Management, Technical University of Munich (faculty page). He received his Habilitation in Management from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, a Doctorate in Economics from University of Mannheim, and a Diplom (MS) in Theoretical Physics from University of Bonn. After his Ph.D., he worked for two years with the consulting firm, Bain & Company. Monica Higgins (PhD Harvard) is the Kathleen McCartney Professor of Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where her research and teaching focus on the areas of leadership and organizational change (faculty page). Monica’s recent work centers on schools as organizations and the ways in which organization and team-level conditions impact performance, particularly during times of uncertainty. She leads an initiative at Harvard Graduate School of Education called Scaling for Impact, which focuses on helping entrepreneurial initiatives scale their work for even greater impact. Monica teaches in a variety of leadership and organizational change programs across Harvard University, including Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Law School, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also served as an appointee to the former Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, under President Obama from 2009-2016. Monica’s work has appeared in academic journals, including Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Applied Behavior Science, Research in Human Development, Journal of Educational Change. A native New Englander, Monica enjoys the outdoors in all kinds of weather, running and biking, and spending time with her family and their puppy, Leo.

Timothy Hoff, Associate Editor

Timothy Hoff, Ph.D. is Professor of Management, Healthcare Systems, and Health Policy in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business and School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts (faculty page). He is a Visiting Associate Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Green-Templeton College, and an Associate Scholar at the Said Business School, University of Oxford. He has also served as the Patrick and Helen Walsh Research Professor in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. Before going into academia, he worked for a decade in hospital administration and as a health care consultant. He received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy, both from the University at Albany. Dr. Hoff studies health workforce issues, health care innovation, quality, primary care, and clinician behavior; and is an expert in the use of qualitative methods. His recent book, Next in Line: Lowered Care Expectations in the Age of Retail- and Value-Based Health, is published by Oxford University Press. Hoff has also published over 65 refereed articles in leading journals in medicine, health services research, and management, such as Pediatrics, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Academy of Management Perspectives, Health Affairs, and The Milbank Quarterly. His book titled Practice Under Pressure: Primary Care Physicians and Their Work in the 21st Century, earned an Outstanding Academic Title award from Choice Magazine in 2010. Hoff’s health care research has received over one million dollars in external funding support, and has won national awards from the American Sociological Association, Academy of Management, and Society for Applied Anthropology. He is coeditor of a 2016 reference volume on transformations in the health professions workforce titled The Healthcare Professional Workforce, also published by Oxford University Press. Hoff is also the former Division Chair for the Health Care Management Division of the Academy of Management. Dr. Hoff conducts executive education and management consulting for a variety of organizations within the healthcare industry, in areas such as change management, health workforce issues, workflow and systems redesign, and improving the patient experience in health care. He gives frequent talks on these topics to academics, industry executives, and medical professionals. He is a lifelong runner who still competes in a variety of events, and he enjoys fishing and camping with his family.

Georg von Krogh is full Professor at ETH Zurich. He holds the Chair of Strategic Management & Innovation. He also chairs the Global Advisory Board at ETH Zurich, that advises the university's president on international strategy. Georg is an expert on competitive strategy, technological innovation, and knowledge management. He conducts quantitative and qualitative research, and has a strong interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning methods. He teaches Entrepreneurial Leadership, Strategic Management, and Innovation Theory & Research. Georg's work has been published in Academy of Management Journal, Harvard Business Review, Information Systems Research, Management Science, MIS Quarterly, Organization Science, Research Policy, and Strategic Management Journal, among others.
